Dear Students and Parents,
Just a quick heads up that we ARE resuming classes and make up lessons this week. Understandably many of you are concerned about the Coronavirus, so here is an important update. Because I care about my students’ health as well as their musical skills, WE ARE NOW OFFERING OPTIONAL ONLINE MUSIC CLASSES VIA ZOOM. We will be meeting for class this week at the studio at the usual time for a normal lesson, and also to help everyone get setup on this free, awesome and easy to use platform. As most of my school age students are not in school this week, this is the perfect time in the midst of the chaos to give everyone some normalcy, fun, and something to do so they don’t climb the walls! 😉 The good news is that because many of you are using Piano Marvel, you already have all you need to make this work (and for those of you who aren’t, don’t worry—setup is easy!). The technology is such that online lessons will be exciting, fun AND productive! AT THIS POINT ONLINE LESSONS ARE OPTIONAL, AS NORMAL CLASSES WILL CONTINUE THIS WEEK AT THE USUAL DAY AND TIME. Rest assured, we are taking every precaution the CDC advises to make sure that the studio is a healthy and safe environment. Everybody will be met at the door with hand sanitizer and Clorox Wipes, all keyboards, doorknobs, and commonly used items will be cleaned before and during every class, and plenty of soap and water will be on hand as needed. If you are having any flu symptoms, stay home until you are better (and be sure to take advantage of our ONLINE MUSIC LESSONS and MAKE UPS). I will send another message to everyone about what to bring with you to the lesson this week (ie: iPad, tablet, laptop, phone, etc.) so everyone can get setup for online lessons if needed. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND LESSONS THIS WEEK, LET ME KNOW AND I WILL SEND INFO AND HELP YOU GET ALL SETUP FOR ONLINE LESSONS FROM HOME. As an added incentive, we are starting to choose songs for an upcoming performance in late May or early June (well after all this has passed). This is an adventure and we are all in this together, but we CAN keep our skills up, keep the music flowing and our students happy. We are so grateful that we can do lessons online!
